Springfield receives $24.8 million RAISE grant for greenway trails

Springfield announces planned sewer rate increase effective July
Customers on City sewer service will see a planned 3% rate increase beginning July 1, adding up to an additional $1.26 per month for the average user. The increase in rates will facilitate the continued improvement of the City’s aging sewer system and allow the community to remain in compliance with federal Clean Water Act regulations. The City of Springfield contracts with City Utilities for sanitary sewer services billing, so customers will notice this change on their August CU bills.

Ron Schneider appointed new director for Springfield-Greene County Parks
Ron Schneider has been named Director of Parks and Recreation for the Springfield-Greene County Park Board. Schneider replaces Bob Belote, who retired as director in January after a 20-year history with the parks department. Jim Fisher is currently serving as interim director.
