For the third consecutive year, the City of Springfield will benefit from appropriation support from the State of Missouri. Alongside funding for the I-44 expansion from St. Louis to Joplin and various road and bridge projects within the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, Springfield will receive significant financial backing for several local initiatives.

The allocations include $10 million for the Springfield Art Museum's expansion and renovation, $3.4 million for Phase II of the LeCompte Roadway Improvements, $3.5 million for additional improvements at Hammons Field, and $1 million for the Springfield-Greene County Health Department’s Family Connects Program.

Springfield-area legislators played a crucial role in securing this funding. "We are very grateful for the support of Gov. Parson, and the work of Sen. Lincoln Hough, chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee; Reps. Bill Owen, Betsy Fogle and Stephanie Hein; members of the House Budget Committee, and the rest of our delegation who supported Springfield-area projects. Between notification of the RAISE grant award and the appropriations, I do not think we have had a better week in terms of needed funding made available," said Mayor Ken McClure.
