Eighth-seeded Missouri State ended its postseason run with a 3-0 loss to Liberty in the Conference USA Championship final at Osborne Stadium in Lynchburg, Virginia. The Bears reached their third conference championship match in four seasons and their first as members of Conference USA.

Liberty took an early lead with Lauren Flax scoring in the fourth minute and again in the 23rd minute after a defensive error. Ivy Garner added a penalty kick goal for Liberty seconds into the second half. Missouri State struggled offensively, managing only one shot on goal by Riley Smith late in the match. Goalkeeper Ella Becker recorded three saves.

Missouri State's season concluded with a strong record away from home, finishing 7-2-3 outside Springfield. The team secured two neutral-site victories during the CUSA Tournament to advance to the title game.

Several seniors made their final appearance for Missouri State. Julia Kristensen finished her career ranked third all-time for both points and assists at the university, earning first-team All-CUSA honors. Seniors Riley Smith, Maddie Schneiderhahn, and Abby Hansen also played their last match, with Schneiderhahn and Hansen named to the second-team All-Conference.

"Heartfelt thanks to the community for all their support this season," said head coach Kirk Nelson. "Very proud of the team coming together at the right moment and getting into the championship match! We showed that we belong in the new conference. Big thank you to our seniors and the strong legacy they have built. We can't wait for next season!"

Three players—Ella Becker, Jane Hansen, and Ellie Neath—were named to the 2025 CUSA Championship All-Tournament Team. Becker posted 11 saves across three matches, including a shutout against Western Kentucky and four saves in a semifinal win over Middle Tennessee. Jane Hansen played every minute of all three postseason matches, helping contain high-scoring opponents with her midfield play. Freshman Ellie Neath scored goals in both quarterfinal and semifinal matches.

Missouri State's debut season in Conference USA highlighted its defensive strengths and established momentum for future seasons.
