Citizens Memorial Hospital and the CMH Heart Institute Clinic have announced that Dr. David J. Lemons, an interventional cardiologist, has joined their medical staff.

Dr. Lemons has nearly a decade of experience in cardiology. He previously worked at Hannibal Regional Medical Group in Hannibal and most recently at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer, Alaska. At the CMH Heart Institute Clinic in Bolivar, he joins fellow cardiologists John F. Best, Dishang Bhavsar, and Haris Riaz.

Dr. Lemons received his medical degree from A.T. Still University-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency and fellowships at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, Oregon. He is board certified in internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and holds subspecialty certifications in both cardiology and interventional cardiology.

His clinical expertise includes diagnostic angiography, coronary angioplasty and stenting, cardiac monitoring and interpretation, transesophageal echocardiography, pericardiocentesis, Impella support, shockwave intravascular lithotripsy, coronary and rotational atherectomy, intra-aortic balloon pump therapy (IABP), pacemaker and defibrillator implantation (including leadless devices), pulmonary thrombectomy, implantable loop recorders, and nuclear cardiology.

The CMH Heart Institute is located at 1500 N. Oakland Ave., Bolivar. Dr. Lemons is currently accepting new patients; the clinic works with most major insurance providers including Medicare and Medicaid.
