Missouri State men’s golf finishes fourth to close fall season

The Missouri State men's golf team concluded its fall season with a fourth-place finish at the Missouri State Intercollegiate, held at Millwood Golf & Racquet Club in Ozark, Missouri. The Bears recorded rounds of 289, 288, and 296 for a total score of 873, finishing fourth out of eight teams.

Lindenwood secured the team title by a narrow margin, finishing one stroke ahead of Bradley with scores of 857 and 858 respectively. UNI followed closely with a score of 860. Arkansas-Pine Bluff finished fifth with 879, Tennessee State was sixth at 884, while Evangel and its "B" team rounded out the field with scores of 911 and 932.

Senior Christian Rischer led Missouri State, tying for sixth place individually after shooting an even-par total of 213 over three rounds (70-68-75). Senior Tim Holmberg finished in eleventh place with a score of 217 (70-74-73), while junior Andrew Fallis placed fourteenth at 219 (74-73-72). Juniors Owen Swearingen and freshman Noah Naugle both tied for thirty-first with scores of 228.

Freshman Pedro Gallegos competed as an individual and achieved his best result to date for the Bears, tying for twelfth place after carding rounds of 75, 72, and 71 for a total score of 218. Junior Max Bowman finished twenty-ninth at 226 (74-75-77), just ahead of sophomore Jonathan Jordan who posted a total score of 227 (77-76-74).

Missouri State will begin its spring schedule at the Loyola Intercollegiate from February 16 to February 18 in Goodyear, Arizona.
