The Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation will host its annual Soirée on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Erickson Stock Farm near Bolivar. The event, named the “Golden Hour Gala” and presented by SGC Food Service, is set to benefit the Surgery Department at Citizens Memorial Healthcare.

Funds raised from the gala will go toward expanding and renovating the hospital’s surgery department. Planned improvements include furnishing new operating rooms with advanced technology and surgical tools, increasing surgical space to reduce wait times and boost capacity, building a new pre- and post-surgery area focused on privacy and comfort for patients and families, and introducing a dedicated robotics room to provide easier access to robotic technology for surgical teams.

“We’re expanding surgery services at CMH to improve the patient experience and better meet the needs of our communities,” said Michael Calhoun, CEO/Executive Director of CMH and Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation. “Your generous donations will help patients receive the very best surgical care close to home.”

Attendees can expect several activities throughout the evening. These include carriage rides during “Sips & Sunset,” a gourmet dinner prepared by Chef Curtis Adams, musical performances by Arbour Season, illusions performed by Landon Swank—who has appeared on America’s Got Talent—and both silent and live auctions.

Tickets or sponsorships are available online. For more information about the event, Tara Akins, director of community relations and development, can be reached at 417-328-6318.
