Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation (CMH) is set to celebrate National Long-Term Care Week from May 11-17 across its long-term and residential care facilities. The celebrations will include themed events, games, and meals for both residents and staff.
Each of CMH's seven facilities will participate with unique themes inspired by this year's national theme from the American Health Care Association, "Tapestry of Life." The facilities have incorporated their own creative ideas such as "The Grove Family Circus," "A Sea of Fun at Butterfield," "The 60s," "Staycation," and "Outside Together."
CMH emphasizes providing safe, personalized care to residents and their families. This week serves to acknowledge the dedicated work of the staff who provide year-round care. Throughout the week, participants will engage in activities that align with each facility's chosen theme.
The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living state that National Long-Term Care Week “recognizes the important role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for our elders and individuals with disabilities. Each person in the long-term and post-acute care community contributes to improving the quality of life of all residents by providing a home away from home that allows them to have the essential connections they need to thrive.”
CMH operates several facilities including Ash Grove Healthcare Facility in Ash Grove; Butterfield Residential Care Center in Bolivar; Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar; Colonial Springs Healthcare Center in Buffalo; Community Springs Healthcare Facility in El Dorado Springs; Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility in Stockton; and Parkview Health Care Facility in Bolivar.
Updates and photos from these celebrations can be found on each facility’s Facebook page throughout the week.
