Citizens Memorial Hospice is organizing a series of bereavement support group classes this spring. The sessions are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 4, at 10 a.m. and will continue for seven weeks.

The classes will take place on March 4, 11, 25 and April 1, 8, 15, and 22 in CMH Community Room 2 at LimeBank, located at 1630 S. Killingsworth Ave., Bolivar. These sessions are open to anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one and are offered free of charge.

Valerie Noblitt, CMH director of home care services, stated that the goals of the support group include educating participants about grief and loss, helping them develop coping skills, and providing emotional support.

The sessions will be led by CMH Hospice chaplains Austin McCrickard and Dustin Preston. They will be joined by counselors Terry Warren (LMSW) and Angel Townsend (MSW), as well as hospice coordinator Connie Duryee. Topics covered in the sessions include understanding the grief experience, managing complex emotions, coping with changes, preparing for holidays and special occasions, and finding meaning after loss.

Pre-registration is requested for those interested in attending. For more information or to register for the classes, individuals can contact Connie Duryee at 417-326-3585.
