Springfield-Greene County to address rise in youth gun violence

Members of Springfield-Greene County’s Gun Safety and Gun Violence Reduction Collaborative will announce efforts to address an increase in youth gun violence at a news conference scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, at Community Partnership of the Ozarks, located at 330 N. Jefferson.

The Collaborative is co-chaired by Francine Pratt, Director of Prosper Springfield, and Clay Goddard, President of Burrell Behavioral Health. The guiding team includes representatives from various sectors.

Public Sector representatives include Ken McClure (Mayor), Monica Horton (City Council), Jason Gage (City Manager), Cora Scott (City Director of Public Information & Civic Engagement), Chief Paul Williams (SPD), Sheriff Jim Arnott (Greene County Sheriff), and Division Youth Services.

Private Sector members are Clay Goddard from Burrell Behavioral Health, Pastor Roger Franklin from Action Center/Heart Church, Roc Hagen from Hip Hop Dress Out Fashion, and Youth Representation.

Social Sector participants include Janet Dankert (CEO CPO), Francine Pratt (CPO), Chris Davis (CPO), and the NAACP.
