Residents from several Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation long-term and residential care facilities participated in the 25th Golden Age Games on October 17 at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar. The event brought together seniors from Ash Grove Healthcare Facility, Butterfield Residential Care Center, Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility, Colonial Springs Healthcare Center, Community Springs Healthcare Facility, Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility, and Parkview Health Care Facility.

The Golden Age Games offered a variety of activities designed for seniors living in long-term care. Participants competed in events such as hog calling, cow milking, horseshoes, basketball toss, soccer kick, bingo, quiz bowl, wheelchair races, and various craft contests including embroidery and woodworking. The games aimed to provide opportunities for social interaction and recreation among older adults in southwest Missouri.

Each facility had the chance to win awards across multiple categories. Highlights included Ash Grove Healthcare Facility earning first place in painting and third in hog calling; Butterfield Residential Care Center taking first place in horseshoes and soccer kick; Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility winning first place in bingo and wheelchair race; Colonial Springs Healthcare Center securing first place in quiz bowl; Community Springs Healthcare Facility winning handiwork and having the oldest participant; Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility earning first place in cow milking; and Parkview Health Care Facility taking top honors in woodworking and group craft.
