Missouri State University's baseball team played two exhibition games against Arkansas State on Sunday at Hammons Field. The Bears won the first game 7-5 and tied the second game 3-3.

Over the course of both nine-inning games, Missouri State used 14 pitchers who combined for a total of 28 strikeouts and delivered 10 scoreless outings. Offensively, Jax Ryan, Jackson Beaman, Bryce Cermenelli, and Gabe Roessler each had multiple hits. Roessler and Logan Fyffe drove in three runs each during the doubleheader. Fourteen different players from Missouri State had at least three plate appearances across the two games.

In the opening game, Brock Lucas, Owen Slater, and Michael Yusypchuk each pitched two shutout innings to start, while Tyler Charlton added a scoreless seventh inning to help build a 6-0 lead for Missouri State. The pitching staff struck out 14 Arkansas State batters in this contest, with Yusypchuk recording six strikeouts in his two innings.

Curry Sutherland hit a solo home run in the first inning. Fyffe contributed a two-run single in the second inning. Ryan drove in another run with a single in the fourth inning, followed by Roessler's two-run home run in the fifth. Arkansas State responded late with three runs in the eighth inning and added two unearned runs in the ninth before Max Knight secured a strikeout with bases loaded to maintain Missouri State's lead. Ryan then hit a solo home run for Missouri State in their half of the ninth to finish with a 7-5 win.

The second game was marked by strong pitching from both teams early on, as neither side recorded a hit until the fourth inning or scored until the fifth. Arkansas State stole home for their first run in the fifth inning; Beaman responded with a solo home run for Missouri State to tie it at 1-1. The Red Wolves took a 3-1 lead on a two-out single in the sixth before Missouri State rallied to tie it up at 3-3 in the eighth inning by capitalizing on walks and scoring via an RBI walk from Roessler and sacrifice fly from Fyffe.

Jason Schaaf started for Missouri State and struck out five batters over two hitless innings.
