Rep. Eric Burlison, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 7th district, published a series of posts on October 17, 2025, addressing ongoing debates over government funding, military spending, and healthcare reform.

In one post made at 13:49 UTC, Burlison criticized Democratic lawmakers regarding government shutdown negotiations. He wrote, "The Democrats' shutdown narrative hinges on pretending the Senate filibuster no longer exists. They think you're stupid."

Later that day at 16:05 UTC, he commented on military funding and government operations under President Trump. Burlison stated, "While President Trump is freeing up funds for the military, the Democrat party is holding the government hostage for theatrics."

Addressing healthcare policy at 17:00 UTC, Burlison argued for changes to existing laws. He said, "Even Democrats admit Obamacare falls apart once taxpayers stop paying 90–100% of the cost. It’s time for real healthcare reform that actually works."

Burlison has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing Billy Long and represents constituents in southwest Missouri. Prior to his tenure in Washington, he was a member of both the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield in 1976 and now residing in Ozark, Burlison earned two degrees from Missouri State University.
