Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district, posted a series of statements on his official X account in mid-October 2025, addressing topics ranging from energy independence to partisan negotiation tactics.
On October 15, 2025, Burlison posted a brief message, "Did I hear a niner in there?".
The following day, on October 16, he made a pointed statement regarding U.S. energy policy, writing, "We should never surrender our energy independence or economic freedom to parasites of global power feeding off the success of hardworking Americans."
Later that same day, Burlison criticized Democratic lawmakers, stating, "Demanding a guaranteed outcome isn't negotiation. Democrats are holding the government hostage. They are extortionists."
Burlison has served in the U.S. Congress since 2023, succeeding Billy Long as the representative for Missouri’s 7th district. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and in the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield, Missouri in 1976, Burlison currently resides in Ozark and is an alumnus of Missouri State University, where he earned his degrees in 2000 and 2002.
