Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) and Burrell Inc. have entered into a mutual referral partnership to improve mental health care services in southwest Missouri. The collaboration is aimed at expanding autism services, group therapy, and educational programs. Both organizations will also work together to identify ways to lower barriers and improve access to behavioral health care in their overlapping service areas, which include Dallas, Polk, and northern Greene counties.
Burrell provides behavioral health services across 18 counties in Missouri, while CMH serves eight counties as a rural health care system. Staff from both organizations will meet regularly to share expertise and develop coordinated strategies for integrated community behavioral health care.
“At CMH, we are committed to improving access to mental health services in our community,” said Michael Calhoun, CEO/executive director of CMH and the Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation. “Collaborating with Burrell allows us to connect more people with the right resources and provide support when it matters most. Our shared goal is to improve health and well-being for all.”
"Whether you live in an urban or rural setting in southwest Missouri, you and your loved ones deserve access to quality behavioral health care,” said Clay Goddard, Burrell Southwest Regional president. “We are honored to partner with Citizens Memorial Hospital, a trusted health care provider in the communities we collectively serve. Together, we will help connect people in need with transformative care."
