Rep. Eric Burlison highlights Missouri agriculture and criticizes federal health care subsidies

Rep. Eric Burlison, U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district, posted a series of statements on social media highlighting his recent visit with local farmers and ranchers, and criticizing federal healthcare subsidies.

On October 7, 2025, Burlison shared his experience visiting agricultural workers in his district. He wrote, "On Monday, I visited our incredible farmers and ranchers across Southwest Missouri. Their hard work feeds our nation, strengthens our communities, and keeps our heritage alive. Truly the backbone of our district."

The following day, Burlison addressed federal health care policy, stating, "Biden's Covid subsidies force taxpayers to fund free health care for more than nine million Obamacare recipients. If politicians truly want to raise living standards, they should stop pushing subsidies that distort the free market and reward government dependency. Burlison, who succeeded Billy Long in Congress in 2023, has a background in Missouri state politics, having served in both the Missouri House of Representatives and Missouri Senate prior to his current role. Born in Springfield, Missouri in 1976, Burlison is 46 years old and resides in Ozark. He is a graduate of Missouri State University, where he earned his degrees in 2000 and 2002.
