Senior Storm Opdahl has been named the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Men's Diver of the Week. The announcement was made Wednesday after Opdahl delivered strong performances during Missouri State men's swimming and diving team's season-opening meet, where they defeated Southern Illinois University (SIU) 275-171 at home.
This is the first time Opdahl has received the weekly conference honor. It also marks the first time since March 2021 that a Missouri State diver has earned this recognition.
Opdahl secured first place in both diving events during the two-day competition. On the first day, he won the one-meter diving event with a score of 303.15. He followed up on day two by winning the three-meter dive, scoring 310.88 points.
Missouri State men's swimming and diving will next host Ouachita Baptist, while the women's team will compete against Indiana State. Both meets are scheduled for Friday, October 17 at 5:00 p.m. at Hammons Student Center Pool.
