Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, published several posts on October 1, 2025, criticizing federal government actions and commenting on ongoing political issues.
In a post at 15:45 UTC, Burlison wrote: "The Biden-Harris-Garland clown show weaponized the FBI. This was tyranny in action."
Later that day at 16:23 UTC, he addressed the issue of government funding and negotiations between parties: "Reminder that the government can reopen anytime that Democrats decide to pass a clean CR to fund the government. Any statements to the contrary are purely performative."
At 18:23 UTC, Burlison made another post referencing online memes: "The sombrero memes will continue until the situation improves."
Burlison succeeded Billy Long as representative for Missouri’s 7th district in 2023. Prior to his current role in Congress, he served in both chambers of the Missouri legislature—the House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and the Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield in 1976 and currently residing in Ozark, Burlison is an alumnus of Missouri State University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in 2000 and another degree in 2002.
