Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district, recently posted several statements on his social media account addressing current political topics and controversies.
On September 30, 2025, Burlison questioned the preparedness of Democrats regarding Russ Vought, writing: "Are Democrats ready for @RussVought? Their chaos is about to become his leverage."
In another post from October 1, 2025, he referenced ongoing government funding debates with a musical analogy: " HOT NEW SINGLE JUST DROPPED “THE SCHUMER SHUTDOWN”"
Later that same day, Burlison criticized diversity initiatives in hiring practices by asking: "Would you want a bridge built by someone hired to meet a racial quota rather than someone proven capable of the work? DEI is the definition of cultural rot."
Burlison has represented Missouri’s 7th District in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Billy Long. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and in the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield in 1976 and currently residing in Ozark, Burlison graduated twice from Missouri State University, earning degrees in both 2000 and 2002.
