Missouri State University's beach volleyball team will hold an intrasquad scrimmage on Friday, October 3, at 4 p.m. The event will take place at the Betty & Bobby Allison Sand Volleyball Courts and is open to the public with no admission fee.

The scrimmage provides an opportunity for fans and the Springfield community to observe the Beach Bears as they prepare for the 2026 spring season. This will be the first time supporters can see the team compete under head coach Ashley Emery, who is entering her third year leading the program.

"Admission is free, offering the campus and Springfield community an up-close chance to see the team's depth, competitive edge, and excitement for the season ahead," Missouri State University said in a statement.

The Beach Bears are coming off a strong 2025 season with an overall record of 18-10. They were undefeated at home with an 11-0 record and secured their second consecutive postseason appearance. Key players returning for the new season include Rylie Cepicky and Allyson Larkin, both recognized as top performers last year. Experienced pairs Amanda Cleary and MacKenzie Steele as well as Maddie Schrandt and Manuela Niemeyer also return to contribute veteran leadership.

Missouri State's roster will also feature six newcomers: five freshmen and one transfer student who are expected to provide additional depth.

In conjunction with the scrimmage, attendees are encouraged to bring donations for Bear Pantry. Collection buckets will be available at the courts for items such as pasta, canned goods, snack foods, household supplies, and personal hygiene products.

"Come out, support the Beach Bears, and help make an impact through the Bear Pantry donation drive while catching the first glimpse of the 2026 squad in action," organizers stated.
