Junior Owen Swearingen led the Missouri State University Bears men's golf team during the first two rounds of the Derek Dolenc Invitational, held Monday at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Illinois. Swearingen finished the day with scores of 72 and 69, totaling a one-under-par 141. He is currently tied for 31st place.

The team collectively posted rounds of 295 and 292 for a total score of 587, placing them in 16th out of 19 teams competing at the event. The tournament is being hosted near St. Louis.

UT Martin leads the tournament with a combined score of 546, holding a two-shot advantage over Idaho at 548. Belmont, Green Bay, and SIUE are also among the top five teams after two rounds.

The final round will take place Tuesday morning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
