Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, posted a series of tweets on September 25 and 26, 2025, addressing topics including government aid to undocumented immigrants and criticism of former FBI Director James Comey.
On September 25, Burlison wrote: "Every handout Democrats give to illegal aliens is stolen directly from the pockets of American taxpayers."
Later that day, he commented on former FBI Director James Comey: "James Comey turned the FBI into a political hit squad. His indictment would remind America that traitors in suits are still traitors."
In the early hours of September 26, Burlison posted another tweet containing only emergency emojis and a link: " https://t.co/QO4K0NiSQA".
Burlison has served as the representative for Missouri’s 7th District since replacing Billy Long in 2023. Before his current role in Congress, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and in the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield, Missouri in 1976, Burlison resides in Ozark and holds two degrees from Missouri State University.
