Missouri State men’s golf finishes twelfth at Git-R-Done Invitational

The Missouri State men's golf team completed its second tournament of the fall season at Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Bears finished 12th in the Git-R-Done Invitational after shooting a final-round score of 300 and totaling 897 over 54 holes.

Nebraska, hosting the event, won the team championship with a total score of 823. Kansas State took second place with 840, followed by Iowa State (842), Wichita State (854), and South Dakota State (857) rounding out the top five teams.

Junior Owen Swearingen led Missouri State in the last round with a one-over-par 72. Senior Tim Holmberg and freshman Noah Naugle each shot a 74.

Senior Christian Rischer was Missouri State's highest finisher overall, placing 52nd with rounds of 72-71-80 for a total of 223. Holmberg finished in 55th place with scores of 72-79-74 for a total of 225. Both Naugle and Swearingen tied for 59th at 228, while freshman Pedro Gallegos placed 66th with scores of 80-75-86 for a total of 241.

Missouri State will compete again on Monday and Tuesday, September 29-30, at the Derek Dolenc Invitational near St. Louis.
