Senior Christian Rischer led the Missouri State men's golf team during the first two rounds of the Git-R-Done Invitational at Firethorn Country Club in Lincoln, Nebraska. Rischer, who is from Columbia, Missouri, shot rounds of 72 and 71 for a total score of 143, which put him in a tie for 23rd place heading into the final round scheduled for Tuesday.
The Missouri State team finished the day in 12th place overall with scores of 296 and 301, totaling 597. Nebraska, hosting the tournament, held the lead with a score of 549. Kansas State followed in second with 561. Iowa State (562), Wichita State (565), and Sam Houston State (567) completed the top five teams after Monday's play.
Among other Missouri State golfers, senior Tim Holmberg was tied for 56th after shooting rounds of 72 and 79 for a total of 151. Freshman Noah Naugle was in 62nd place with scores of 72 and 82 (154), while fellow freshman Pedro Gallegos stood at 63rd after posting an opening round of 80 followed by a second-round score of 75 (155). Junior Owen Swearingen rounded out the Bears' lineup in 65th place with rounds of 80 and 76 for a combined score of 156.
