Rep. Eric Burlison, U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, posted a series of messages on September 17, 2025, addressing congressional standards, student opportunities in technology, and a personal tribute.

In his first message of the day, Burlison called for accountability among lawmakers. On September 17, he stated: "Members of Congress should hold themselves to higher standards. Too many politicians rely on political theatrics to avoid meaningful debate."

Later that afternoon, Burlison promoted an educational initiative for students in his district. On September 17, he wrote: "The Congressional App Challenge is back! All middle and high school students from Missouri's 7th district are encouraged to register and showcase their coding skills in this prestigious annual competition. In the evening, Burlison shared a personal note about honoring a friend on the House floor. He posted: "It was my honor to pay tribute to a good man and my dear friend, Mike Vaini, on the House floor tonight."

Burlison has represented Missouri’s 7th District in Congress since replacing Billy Long in 2023. Prior to serving in Congress, he held positions in both the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield in 1976 and residing in Ozark, Burlison graduated from Missouri State University with undergraduate degrees earned in both 2000 and 2002.
