Missouri State University will host a youth spirit clinic on September 27, led by the university’s Cheer and Sugar Bears Dance teams. The event is designed for children in kindergarten through sixth grade and aims to teach chants, dance moves, and beginner stunting skills with guidance from current members of the Missouri State spirit squads.

The clinic will start at 1 p.m. at Hammons Student Center West Court. After the instructional session, participants will join the Bear Walk parade through BearFest Village at approximately 3:45 p.m. Families are invited to enjoy activities in BearFest Village before attending the Missouri State Bears football game against Western Kentucky, which begins at 6 p.m. During the first half of the game, children who attended the clinic will have an opportunity to perform on the field.

Participants are asked to wear black shirts and bottoms as part of a blackout theme for the game and should bring a signed medical release form. The registration fee is $60 per child, covering participation in the clinic, a ticket to the football game, a t-shirt, and a snack. Additional tickets for family or friends can be purchased for $20 each, providing admission to lower level seats at Robert W. Plaster Football Stadium.

Registration must be completed by Friday, September 19 for guaranteed t-shirt sizing.
