Rep. Eric Burlison, U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, posted a series of statements on his official social media account on October 10, 2025, addressing federal legislation and recent policy issues.
In a post made at 19:26 UTC, Burlison wrote, "The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act is an Obama-era betrayal of the American people. The government does not get to dictate reality."
Later that evening at 20:00 UTC, he addressed Medicaid policies in certain states by stating, "Blue states like California were laundering money through Medicaid provider taxes to undermine federal restrictions and funnel taxpayer dollars to illegal aliens. President Trump put a stop to it, but now Democrats want to bring it back."
At 21:00 UTC the same day, Burlison highlighted local outreach efforts for veterans in his district: "Today, my office hosted a resource fair where veterans connected with organizations offering help with VA benefits, free transportation to medical appointments, mental health resources, and more. I’m truly thankful for our veterans and those who dedicate themselves to serving".
Eric Burlison succeeded Billy Long as representative for Missouri’s 7th district in 2023. Before joining Congress, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and the Missouri Senate from 2019 until his congressional term began.
He was born in Springfield, Missouri in 1976 and currently resides in Ozark.
Burlison earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Missouri State University.
