Missouri State University freshman Peyton McKee has been named Conference USA Freshman of the Week. The announcement was made Monday by league officials in Dallas.

McKee, an outside hitter from Montgomery, Texas, received the honor after being named Most Valuable Player at the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational. She played a key role in helping Missouri State win its annual home tournament.

During the invitational, McKee averaged 3.91 kills per set, 0.55 blocks per set, 0.73 digs per set, and 4.27 points per set with a .417 attack efficiency. In Thursday’s match against Lindenwood, she recorded 13 kills on .310 hitting and three blocks.

On Friday against UTSA, McKee posted 19 kills with only two errors for a .500 hitting percentage and contributed two digs and two blocks. She closed out the tournament Saturday with 11 kills on .435 hitting in three sets versus DePaul.

Missouri State will play two home matches against Purdue Fort Wayne on September 11 and 12, both starting at 6 p.m.
