A series of upgrades have been completed at Robert W. Plaster Stadium ahead of the new football season, according to Missouri State University officials. The improvements aim to enhance the experience for fans attending Missouri State University Bears Football games.
Key changes include a new pregame traffic flow plan and expanded general public access to premium parking areas. Parking passes for single games can now be purchased in advance or with cash on game day, with specific lots charging $10 or $20 per vehicle depending on location. Most campus parking lots and the BearPark North garage will remain free for fans except for certain reserved areas.
The stadium has installed a new playing surface featuring state-of-the-art artificial turf called Pivot 1.5 by Tencate, which is designed to offer high performance and durability while maintaining a real-grass feel without requiring infill or intensive maintenance. The project cost $1,820,000 and comes with a 12-year warranty.
Additional facility enhancements include LED stadium lighting capable of producing light shows, an expanded concessions menu with more beverage options, and increased hawker staff throughout the venue. The newly introduced Rivalry Grill on the west side’s third level will serve items such as the classic Bear Bratwurst at all stands. A Bear Necessities Bundle offers two hot dogs, two beers, and chips for $28 before the first quarter in west-side sections. Student section specials will feature discounted food and beverages during games.
Missouri State University has also implemented a clear bag policy intended to improve security at Robert W. Plaster Stadium and other campus venues by restricting bag sizes and types allowed into events.
Other upgrades include larger student tailgating areas—now located in Lot 24 at Grand and National—with free reservations available to students on a first-come basis. BearFest Village tailgating arrangements remain unchanged except for this relocation of student groups.
Entertainment during home football games will be managed by Elevate Entertainment, which will provide live DJ performances designed to increase fan engagement across football, basketball, and volleyball events.
Facility updates extend to press box renovations, digital infrastructure improvements, new bleacher-back seating installations, an updated TV production compound and spirit wall, as well as cosmetic repairs throughout the stadium.
"The new policy is designed to regulate the size and types of bags that may be carried into the venue for all events," university officials stated regarding security measures at athletic facilities.
"The new playing field design incorporates a variety of elements, including the modern 'MoState' script logo in both end zones," according to information released about field improvements.
"Elevate Entertainment will serve as the on-field, in-game DJ for all home football games and bring high-energy, live DJ performances to home basketball and volleyball events," university representatives said when announcing entertainment plans.
