Rep. Eric Burlison, U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, posted a series of tweets addressing national policy issues and honoring military service in late August 2025.
On August 28, Burlison referenced fuel prices and public transit debates, quoting former President Trump: “President Trump: ‘Here’s cheap gas.’ Democrats: ‘This is an attack on public transit equity.’” On the following day, he commented on fiscal policy with another post: “Rescissions defend the taxpayer from the reckless habits of Washington.” Later that same day, he honored military service members by stating: “These Marines have stood the line for our country while strengthening the communities they call home. We honor that legacy today and every day.”
Burlison succeeded Billy Long as representative of Missouri’s 7th congressional district in 2023. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in both chambers of the Missouri legislature—the House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and the Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield, Missouri in 1976, Burlison currently resides in Ozark and holds two degrees from Missouri State University.
