Nicole Twenter, LPC, has completed the necessary training and is now registered as a Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) provider. CPP is an evidence-based treatment that helps young children and their caregivers who have experienced trauma.
With this new accreditation, the CMH Pediatric Clinic now has two CPP providers: Nicole Twenter and Rachael Swopes, Psy.D. Both professionals are available to offer CPP therapy, which expands the clinic’s ability to support families during challenging periods.
CPP serves children from birth through age five and their parents or caregivers. The therapy aims to restore safety, strengthen attachment between child and caregiver, and promote healing from traumatic experiences such as abuse, domestic violence, loss, or other disruptions.
To become accredited in CPP, providers must complete more than 18 months of coursework, receive reflective supervision, and gain clinical experience under nationally trained CPP therapists.
The CMH Pediatric Clinic is located at 1195 N. Oakland Ave. in Bolivar. For those seeking more information about CPP or care at the clinic, the contact number is 417-777-2121.
