Missouri State's Jake McCutcheon was selected by the Miami Marlins in the 10th round of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft. The selection, which took place on Monday, made McCutcheon the first player from Missouri State to be drafted this year. He was picked with the 288th overall pick.
McCutcheon had an impressive season with Missouri State, starting every game and achieving 19 multi-RBI games along with 24 multi-hit outings. His batting average stood at .358, and he slugged .647 with a .444 on-base percentage. Over the season, he hit 15 home runs and 14 doubles while driving in 54 runs.
The junior from Defiance, Missouri earned first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference honors.
