Eric Burlison, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 7th district, has been vocal on social media about various political issues. Having replaced former U.S. Congress member Billy Long in 2023, Burlison has continued to express his perspectives on fiscal responsibility and government policy through his Twitter account.

On July 9, 2025, Burlison tweeted about the influence of the Freedom Caucus in Washington D.C., stating "No one in D.C. has done more to shift the conversation toward fiscal responsibility, secure borders, and limited government than the @freedomcaucus." This tweet underscores his support for the caucus's efforts in shaping national discourse.

Later that day, at 15:35 UTC, Burlison commented on the Trump administration's actions regarding conservative priorities. He remarked that "The Trump administration is already following through on key guarantees conservatives fought for during the late-night reconciliation negotiations." He further noted that "@freedomcaucus haters hardest hit," reflecting his belief in their impactful role during these negotiations.

In another post made at 18:04 UTC on July 9th, Burlison focused on healthcare priorities by emphasizing support for vulnerable groups. He stated "The goal has always been to put children, the disabled, and pregnant women first." His tweet explained that "Work requirements protect Medicaid for the truly needy and ensure providers prioritize them," highlighting his stance on Medicaid policies aimed at prioritizing those most in need.

Burlison's political career began with his service in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and continued with a tenure in the Missouri Senate from 2019 until he joined Congress. Born in Springfield, Missouri in 1976 and currently residing in Ozark, he holds two degrees from Missouri State University.
