Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri's 7th district since 2023, has been vocal on various legislative matters through his social media presence. His tweets reflect his conservative stance on fiscal policies and government transparency.

On July 7, 2025, Burlison highlighted the efforts of "fiscal hawks" in securing a more conservative version of a bill after "additional guarantees [were] stripped from the bill by the Senate". He mentioned that late-night negotiations played a crucial role in achieving this outcome.

Later that day, he expressed criticism towards Democrats regarding Medicaid policy changes. Burlison claimed that "Democrats will lie about any change to Medicaid," emphasizing his belief that able-bodied adults should be required to work.

In another tweet posted on the same day, Burlison questioned governmental transparency concerning video footage release. He asked what a reasonable person should think when they are initially informed that "the footage doesn’t exist," only for it to later emerge showing discrepancies such as "a different cell and missing a full minute."

Burlison has been serving in Congress since replacing Billy Long in 2023. Before his current role, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and in the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield, Missouri, he graduated from Missouri State University and resides in Ozark.
