Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar and Central Care Cancer Center of Salina, Kansas, have reaffirmed their partnership to enhance cancer care services for the Bolivar community. This collaboration began in 2005 and led to the establishment of the Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center in 2008, situated next to the Douglas Medical Center.

Under a new agreement, CMH will offer medical oncology and infusion services as part of its outpatient operations. Central Care will continue providing radiation therapy at the Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center. To ensure seamless patient care, CMH will work with Central Care for physician, billing, and management services.

Patients will benefit from continuity in care provided by familiar staff members. Additionally, CMH offers nutritional counseling and social support services at the cancer center.

Michael Calhoun, CEO/executive director of CMH and CMH Foundation, stated: “We value our long-standing partnership with Central Care in providing quality cancer care in this region. This collaboration ensures that patients will continue to receive care from trusted medical professionals and have access to the best possible oncology services.”

Alfredo Lopez, CEO of Central Care, added: “We are proud to continue our collaboration with Citizens Memorial. Together, we are strengthening our shared commitment to patient-centered care, ensuring individuals have access to expert oncology services, advanced treatments and compassionate support close to home.”

This renewed partnership aims to improve coordination of care and foster innovation in cancer treatment within the region.
