Today, U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt co-chaired a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing regarding four judicial nominees for the Eastern District of Missouri. These nominees were selected by President Trump and previously worked under Schmitt during his tenure as Missouri Attorney General.
During the hearing, Schmitt expressed personal pride in the nominees' legal careers and their dedication to public service in Missouri. He stated, "We have four nominees to join the Eastern District of Missouri. All four of whom I know quite well because they worked for me in the Missouri Attorney General’s office."
Schmitt emphasized their shared commitment to public service, saying, "These nominees also have something else in common; if you look at their legal experience, it is marked by public service to the people of Missouri, protecting their liberties, protecting their safety, and upholding the rule of law."
He praised President Trump's choices: "President Trump made 4 fantastic picks. They will be among the finest judges on the federal bench." According to Schmitt, each nominee possesses significant experience and sound judgment.
Senator Schmitt personally introduced each nominee from Missouri at the hearing.
Schmitt collaborated with the White House to prioritize these nominations for announcement.
