The 2024 Birthplace of Route 66 Festival Parade is set to showcase over 500 classic cars, trucks, and other attractions. This event will proceed along Route 66 through Springfield on Friday, Aug. 9, starting at 6 p.m.
Prime viewing spots for the parade include Park Central Square, near Motorcycle Village at St. Louis and Jefferson, as well as various locations along College (East of Grant) and St. Louis St. (East to National). Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to comfortably enjoy the event. Pre-parade parties will be held at the Birthplace of Route 66 Roadside Park located at 1200 W. College at 4:30 p.m., and another at the Route 66 Car Museum at 1684 W. College.
Participants in the car show can join the parade as part of their registration without additional cost or register solely for the parade with a $10 donation. Event-day registrations are also available with check-in for staging between 4 and 6 p.m. at either Kansas Expressway and College or College and West Avenue intersections. Pre-parade picnics for participants will take place at both the Route 66 Car Museum at 1634 W. College and the Birthplace of Route 66 Car Museum at 1200 W. College.
