Senator Eric Schmitt recently engaged Department of the Air Force leaders in a discussion regarding the current posture of the United States Air Force. He also raised questions about the role of divisive DEI positions within the U.S. Air Force.

During the hearing, Senator Schmitt advocated for Missouri priorities, including the follow-on mission for the 442nd Air Force Reserve Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base. He also pressed Secretary Kendall on the need for new C-130Js at Rosecrans Air National Guard Base.

In February, the Department of the Air Force unveiled extensive plans to reshape, refocus, and reoptimize both the Air Force and Space Force. The goal is to ensure continued supremacy across all domains to prevail in an era characterized by Great Power Competition.

Senator Schmitt has consistently fought for placing new C-130J airplanes at Rosecrans Air National Guard Base. He is also actively working to secure a follow-on flying mission for the 442nd Fighter Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base after their A-10 fighters are divested.

Furthermore, Senator Schmitt has been a leading voice in Senate discussions on rooting out divisive DEI from traditionally nonpartisan institutions such as armed services and federal government.
