Cost of college went up for all students at Southwest Baptist University

Tuition and fees rose 3.1 percent for 2018-19 at Southwest Baptist University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Missouri students paid $24,078 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $720 more than the $23,358 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 431 students received grants or scholarships totaling $7 million and 302 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.2 million.

Including all undergraduates (3,357), 1,985 students used grants or scholarships totaling $27.6 million, and 1,459 students took out $10.8 million in federal student loans.
