85 percent of applicants to Missouri State University-Springfield were admitted for fall 2018

At Missouri State University-Springfield, 89 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 58 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Springfield enrolled 23,697 students in fall 2018, including 20,138 in undergraduate and 3,559 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

86 percent of undergraduates are residents of Missouri, and 13 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (82 percent) and Black or African American (4 percent).

The school admitted 85 percent of the 8,988 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 40 percent enrolled.
