Senior Storm Opdahl and freshman Aleca Howard from Missouri State University have been recognized by the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) for their recent performances in swimming and diving.

Opdahl was named MVC Men's Diver of the Week after contributing to Missouri State's 222-122 home victory over Ouachita Baptist. This marks his second recognition this season, with his first award coming after a win against SIU. During the meet, Opdahl won the one-meter diving event with a score of 332.85 on the first day and secured another victory in the three-meter dive with 337.85 points on the second day.

Howard received her first conference honor as she was awarded MVC Women's Freshman of the Week. Despite Missouri State's 192.5-160.5 loss to Indiana State at home, Howard performed strongly by winning both the 400-yard individual medley (4:27.28) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:07.24). She also finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:21.83.

Missouri State’s swimming and diving teams are scheduled to compete next in Nebraska, facing Omaha in a two-day meet beginning Friday, October 31 at H&K Swimming Pool.
