Missouri State University freshman Hannah Gardner has been named Conference USA Freshman of the Week, becoming the second player from Missouri State to receive this recognition during the current season. Peyton McKee was previously honored with the same award on September 8.
Gardner's performance over the weekend contributed to Missouri State’s sweep against New Mexico State. She averaged 2.63 kills, 5.75 assists, 2.38 digs, and 0.63 blocks per set across both matches. On Saturday, Gardner recorded her second triple-double of the season, setting career highs with 15 kills at a .324 hitting percentage and 28 assists, along with 11 digs.
In Friday’s match against New Mexico State, Gardner achieved six kills, 18 assists, and eight digs as Missouri State secured another win over the Aggies.
Missouri State currently holds an overall record of 8-11 and is 3-5 in Conference USA play. The team will host Louisiana Tech at home on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by another match on Saturday at 1 p.m.
