Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, posted a series of statements on October 10, 2025, addressing healthcare policy and crime rates in American cities.
In his first post at 17:17 UTC, Burlison shared a brief message: "Checkmate. https://t.co/VMUsC8HFZ0 https://t.co/cDXGzHSn0P".
Shortly after, at 17:32 UTC, he commented on federal healthcare spending and the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), stating: "Piling more money on a broken system rife with waste, fraud, and abuse isn't a fix. It's denial.
If lawmakers are genuinely interested in making healthcare more affordable for EVERYONE, it's time to put Obamacare on the chopping block.
Until then, it will only get worse. https://t.co/wXFDoZjueT".
Later that day at 18:33 UTC, Burlison criticized Democratic leaders regarding urban crime rates and praised former President Donald Trump’s approach to law enforcement: "Democratic leaders across the country refuse to admit that high crime rates in their cities are a crisis of their own making.
They should be thankful that President Trump is doing their job for them and actually enforcing the law. https://t.co/jNDYTACG0f".
Burlison has represented Missouri's 7th District in Congress since succeeding Billy Long in 2023. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and in the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield, Missouri in 1976 and currently residing in Ozark, Burlison holds two degrees from Missouri State University earned between 2000 and 2002.
