Rep. Eric Burlison, who represents Missouri’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on October 10, 2025, criticizing Democratic lawmakers for their approach to government funding and healthcare reform.

In his first post at 14:45 UTC, Burlison stated, "Democrats shut down the government to undo President Trump’s wins while pretending to care about the American people. This isn't negotiation; it's extortion."

Later that afternoon at 15:30 UTC, he addressed healthcare policy: "If Democrats are truly interested in lowering healthcare costs, let’s have a good-faith discussion. Obamacare has failed. Real reform means embracing a free-market system that competes for patients, not mandates that drive costs up."

At 16:31 UTC the same day, Burlison commented on media coverage and ongoing negotiations over government funding: "Democrats are using the mainstream media to manufacture a narrative disconnected from reality. A continuing resolution is a compromise. But instead of keeping the government open, Dems want to hold it hostage to push their partisan agenda."

Burlison has served as U.S. Representative for Missouri's 7th District since 2023 after succeeding Billy Long. Prior to his current role in Congress, he was a member of both the Missouri House of Representatives (2009–2017) and the Missouri Senate (2019–2023). Born in Springfield in 1976 and currently residing in Ozark, Burlison holds degrees from Missouri State University.
