The Missouri State Bears men's soccer team lost to Creighton 1-0 on Wednesday night at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri. The Bears now hold a 3-5-2 record, while the Bluejays improved to 6-3-2.

Both teams started the match aggressively, seeking scoring opportunities. The goalkeepers from both sides delivered strong performances, keeping the first half scoreless.

Creighton made an early attempt in the ninth minute, but Missouri State's senior goalkeeper Will Lowry saved the shot. In the 15th minute, Bears junior Adrian Esteban had a shot on goal, which was saved by Creighton goalkeeper Matthew Hudson. Senior Diego Real followed up with another attempt two minutes later, also saved by Hudson.

Lowry made a notable save in the 33rd minute on a shot from Creighton's Todd Vromant aimed at the top right corner.

The second half mirrored the first, with both teams pressing offensively. Esteban had another shot on goal in the 53rd minute that was stopped by Hudson. Lowry denied a goal from Creighton's Miguel Arilla in the 63rd minute.

Just seconds later, Bears senior Fumiya Shiraishi attempted a shot on goal that was again stopped by Hudson. Shiraishi made further attempts in the 83rd and 84th minutes, both saved by Hudson.

Creighton secured the win in the 89th minute when Martin Herrera scored the only goal of the match. This result reversed last season's outcome between the two teams; last year, Shiraishi scored a late goal to give Missouri State the victory over Creighton.

Missouri State finished with 12 shots and six on target, while Creighton had 10 shots with five on target. Both teams recorded six corner kicks.

The Bears will play their next match against South Florida in Tampa, Florida, on Friday, October 17 at 6:00 p.m.
