Missouri State University's women's golf team secured sixth place at the Diane Thomason Invitational in Iowa City, which featured 16 teams. The tournament was hosted by the University of Iowa.

The Bears were among the top three teams after Monday's opening rounds but dropped to sixth following Tuesday's final round. Their total score was 912 (300-301-311), finishing just one stroke behind Bowling Green.

Iowa won the event with a score of 889, followed by Montana State at 894 and Southern Miss at 906.

Jiayi Zhang from Missouri State tied for fifth place individually, recording scores of 74, 72, and 74 for a total of 220. She shot an even-par 36 on the back nine during the final round to secure her position in the top five. Chloe Bolte finished in 12th place out of 90 competitors with rounds of 72, 78, and 74 for a total score of 224.

Coach Kevin Kane stated that the team will compete next at the Red Wolves Classic in Jonesboro, Arkansas on October 13-14. The fall season will conclude at Hot Springs Village, Arkansas during the Diamante Intercollegiate.
