Missouri State University’s women’s soccer team will face Kennesaw State for the first time in program history on Sunday, September 28. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at Fifth Third Stadium in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Missouri State enters the contest with a 4-5-2 overall record and a 1-0-1 mark in Conference USA play. All four of the Bears’ victories this season have come on the road against SIUE, Southeast Missouri, Central Arkansas, and Jacksonville State.

The Bears are coming off their first-ever Conference USA win after defeating Jacksonville State 1-0. This result also extended their conference unbeaten streak to 22 matches; their last league loss was on October 23, 2022, against Illinois State.

Goalkeeper Ella Becker was recognized as CUSA Goalkeeper of the Week on Tuesday, September 23. She is the first Missouri State women’s soccer player to receive a weekly honor from Conference USA. Becker has started all eleven matches this season, recording 44 saves, a .746 save percentage, and four shutouts—including three consecutive clean sheets.

Abby Hansen leads Missouri State with ten points from three goals and four assists and has converted her only penalty attempt this year. Julia Kristensen and Reilly Heman are tied for second in scoring with six points each; both have two goals and two assists and share the team lead with 25 shots apiece. Kristensen holds the program’s single-season assist record (13 in 2024) and ranks third all-time at Missouri State with twenty career assists.

Emma Shields and Brooke Cattoor have each scored twice this season, while Shields leads the team with two game-winning goals. Rowann Law and Maggie O’Keefe have one goal each. Four players—Jane Hansen, Macee McKenna, Riley Smith, and Julia Kristensen—have provided at least two assists so far.

Missouri State averages just over one goal per game while limiting opponents to a shot percentage of .128.
