Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, addressed the assassination of Charlie Kirk and criticized Democrats and the media in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) this week.
On September 15, Burlison wrote, "It's disturbing to see Democrats and mainstream media attempt to rationalize and excuse the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The truly sad part is that this level of darkness is no longer confined to the fringes of the left."
The following day, Burlison commented on former Representative Adam Schiff’s actions during his tenure on the House Intelligence Committee: "Fact Check: True Here's Adam Schiff using his position on the Intel Committee to lie about 'extra' evidence he didn't have on Russian collusion." In another post later that day, Burlison reflected on Kirk's legacy: "Charlie Kirk was everything his critics feared: logical, relentless, unafraid, and effective. His legacy speaks louder than their smears ever could."
Burlison has represented Missouri’s 7th District in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Billy Long. He previously served in both chambers of Missouri’s state legislature from 2009 through early 2023. Born in Springfield in 1976, Burlison holds two degrees from Missouri State University and currently resides in Ozark.
