Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district, posted a series of tweets on August 25, 2025, criticizing Democratic policies and voicing support for former President Donald Trump’s approach to crime and budgeting.
In his first tweet at 13:53 UTC, Burlison wrote, "The Left spent years using the FBI on parents and the ATF on law-abiding gun owners. President Trump goes after actual criminals in DC and suddenly it’s the end of the world."
Later that day at 15:29 UTC, he stated, "Democrats have normalized carjackings, muggings, and violent crime. Americans shouldn’t have to look over their shoulder every time they go outside. President Trump is changing that."
At 17:53 UTC, Burlison commented on fiscal policy with another post: "There's no excuse for a swampy budget bill. It's time for bold action that puts conservative priorities first."
Burlison has represented Missouri’s 7th District in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Billy Long. Before his current role in Congress, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and in the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield in 1976 and currently residing in Ozark, Burlison holds two degrees from Missouri State University earned in 2000 and 2002.
