Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, recently used his social media platform to reiterate his stance on limited government and constitutional rights.
On August 1, 2025, Burlison posted: "The @freedomcaucus is committed to dismantling the administrative state. The freedom of future generations depends on whether we can restore the principles of limited government, individual rights, and fiscal sanity."
The following day, August 2, he continued with: "The American people are tired of broken promises. They want the federal government out of their lives, off their backs, and back in its constitutional cage."
On August 3, Burlison addressed Second Amendment issues by stating: "Reminder that Gavin Newsom is not 'pro 2A' and 'CA compliant' is deeply unconstitutional."
Burlison has been an advocate for conservative principles throughout his political career. Before joining Congress in 2023 as the successor to Billy Long, he served in both the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023. Born in Springfield in 1976 and currently residing in Ozark, Burlison holds two degrees from Missouri State University.
His recent statements reflect ongoing debates within Congress about the size and scope of federal power as well as Second Amendment protections.
