Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, posted several statements on his Twitter account on August 1, 2025, criticizing political leaders and the intelligence community while calling for greater transparency.

Later that day at 18:03 UTC, he commented on actions by intelligence officials: "The intel community betrayed their oath and chose to lie to the American people in favor of their own political agenda. We deserve to see perp walks."
In a subsequent tweet at 20:52 UTC, Burlison stated: "Transparency is the ultimate form of accountability."
Burlison began serving in Congress in January 2023 after replacing Billy Long.
